The Greylords have long been dominant in the realms of the outermere. Friends

to Lords and Ladies, Counsels to Kings and Queens; the Greylords are the pinnacle of the "adventurer" social class. Few groups have managed to rise to the level of these great men and women who walk the lands righting wrongs, slaying evil, and gathering riches.

Many adventurers just starting their careers look to the Greylords as role-models; grand exemplars of what they should strive to be. Sadly, few of the neophytes last long in the dangerous caverns and forgotten dungeons of "the Below." Each year, however, the Greylords host a grand competition where the brightest stars of the adventurer class can vie for a year-long apprenticeship with one of the great Greylords.

You have been so lucky as to be judged worthy by one of the Greylords. You serve them as a page and, at the end of the year, if you survive, you will enter the rolls of the Greyknights, a friend and vassal to the great lords.
